Harbourmaster 010-006

Early planning stages of Harbourmaster ( back when the working title was Daima's City ) had Gilou and Nephos' relationship as more emotionally distant. But non-bio parents get enough 'but they're not real parents and can never be as good as bio parents ever' nonsense in assorted media, so I switched it around so Gilou was much closer to her non-bio parent than she was to her bio one. Because family is more than just genetics, consarn it.

[ETA:] Fleshing out the meta: Gilou has always been adversarial with Partasah - that relationship didn't change much over time. Just for some reason Nephos was less attached, at least after G grew up. I think it was just because he wasn't as prominant a character at first and that was an excuse to keep him more in the background. This didn't even make sense in the original context. ( Bonus joke: Go far enough back and Partasah and Gilou actually started out human, and Gilou, while born of science, was genetically half Nephos'. They didn't get emotionally close until after their bio-bonds were removed. ( Because I didn't like the non-bio parent=emotionally distant implications. ) )
