Pointless minor trivia: A phaedin is a trick of light - if you're close to a star and watching it when your ship goes into the underspace, it shows a kind of wavy shatter effect. And since humans are never going to stop inventing stories about things, and the light shards had a waver like a ghost made of light instead of bedsheets, they got declared Mythology. The cast know this ( well, the mammals do. )

Mine has a meaning too, I'm the clean one which comes from the sea... not that I think I was so clean and neat and tidy. Names are sometimes weird but very interesting.
