Pointless minor trivia: It is entirely possible that other Caliga survived - since ships more or less teleport in this pulp, there would have been people running rescue flights as long as they could to get as many people off Garden as possible. Just because Nephos never found them after doesn't mean they can't exist.

Start from the beginning of this arc.
Start from the beginning.

Wouldn't be big, I wouldn't think. When I think 'possibly other Caliga survived', I think, 'two or three at most.' But since it never comes up, there is no canon on this. There could be several dozen ( if an escape ship happened to drop down in the commune ) and they figured there couldn't possibly be any others so they never looked.

Hee. Probably more when they were doing the activism thing and making noise. ( "Yeah! Humans out of space! Earth first! Sit around and strum harps and call anyone who disagrees 'Herbert'!" "You do realise that we're working hippies, right? We actually spend most of our time doing farm work because that's how we eat. Also, vegetarianism is mandatory." "Forget that! I'm gonna become a beatnik instead!" ) After that they stopped being special and were just another group trying to live with a minimal-to-positive environmental impact.

I just keep thinking about how people will go to silly extents to bring together survivors of tragic events, whether or not they want it.

... That's a thing that people do? ( Is the assumption correct that this is so the organisers can film it and turn it into a voyeuristic grief porn television special? Or am I being too cynical and it's just misguided trying to be helpfulness? )

Search for pretty much any tragic event+survivors reunion.

It is probably both.

just a qeustion in relation to the pointless trivia, how many star systems are inhabited by humans? how big is the population that Nephos would have to search through to find other caliga?

great page

It's something like thirty-five billion humans across sixty-five planets. It doesn't help that Caliga don't even have last names and they've always been an off-the-grid sort of people. Nephos would be the most visible one if anyone was looking, or at least has the most visible paper trail due to his military record.
