My original designs of Alpine were more All-American Beef, but somewhere along the line I mixed in a bit of John Agar for more 50's shlock, and so he wouldn't look too much like Captain Thunderfall.
It's only his ref sheets that have any resemblance to John Agar - as I've worked with Alpine, he's settled into his face. Also his ref sheets have him with combed hair, but Zefonith wasn't going to style it for him and Alpine hasn't bothered, being kind of distracted.

Hopefully, the port's far enough away from the Hive that he's not likely to stumble in there.
And no, I don't expect him to get caught by a predator, at least not fatally. It was mentioned that we'd be going to Veras at some point, and Stevenson's the most likely candidate for viewpoint character there right now.
