It's the Insecticomics - love might not conquer all, but it does solve some problems. 
( For those of you in the cheap seats, yes, she means Optimus Prime. )
Rodimus is doing perfectly well as the Autobot leader, he just feels a bit guilty about having the Matrix when Optimus Prime is still alive. Elita-1 showing up is just a reminder of that.
That orange backdrop is utterly horrible to work with. When I update the Autobot base backdrop, I shall do it in ... I dunno, desaturated blue or something. Not bright orange. It might be traditional, but it screws with my colour balances something awful.
Optimus Prime does exist in the Insecticomics universe, he's just not in Pollyhex and apparently not even on Earth. Sometimes he sends other Autobots over.

You did marvelously on that last panel especially, Wayward! I kinda suspected it had a little Photoshop help, but it wasn't obvious from the quality of the image; just from the fact that toys don't have interchangably awesome faceplates with different emotions. Would be awesome if they did, but they don't. Except for TFA!Blitzwing, sorta. *shrugs*
I ramble. I love this particular strip for the dynamic dialogue and because I am an utterly hopeless Elita-1xOptimus Prime shipper/supporter.
I dunno, it's just irresistable to me. Anyway, I am a little sad that you don't much care for Primes and thus are unlikely to bring the big guy in anytime soon, if at all, but you get no complaints from me on his choice of emmissary. 
Can't wait to see how this pans out!
